What are Ratafia’s opening hours?

Ratafia is open Monday – Friday from 5:30 PM to LATE offering breathtaking sunset views and enjoyment after dark. On Saturdays, Ratafia is open from 9:30 PM to LATE. On Sundays, Ratafia is closed.

Where is Ratafia located?

Ratafia is located at the top floor above Sotheby’s at the roundabout across from the entrance to Porto Cupecoy in Cupecoy, Sint Maarten (the Dutch side of the island). Do I need a reservation to come to Ratafia?

Reservations are always recommended and encouraged but not mandatory. We will always do our best to accommodate walk-ins. Seating on our terraces / balconies is limited as is seating in our lounge area, so a reservation is the best way to ensure you get the seating you prefer. Contact us to reserve your spot today.

Does Ratafia have parking?

Ratafia offers free parking for cars, motorcycles, and scooters on a first-come-first-served basis in its parking lot, located adjacent to the entrance to our staircase. If the Ratafia parking lot is full, there is plenty of additional free parking available in the auxiliary parking lot across the street adjacent to the entrance to Shore Pointe.

Can I walk to Ratafia?

Absolutely, customers walk and bicycle to Ratafia all the time! Ratafia is easily accessible and walking distance from Dany’s Beach Bar, Porto Cupecoy, Shore Pointe, Blue Mall Residences, Sapphire Beach Club Resort, Rainbow Beach Club, The Cliff, Fourteen at Mullet Bay, Jordan Village, Cote D’Azur Residence, American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), La Samanna, Adonis Cupecoy, and more.

Is Ratafia wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, Ratafia is not yet wheelchair accessible. That said, we will do our best to accommodate mobility-challenged customers any way that we can. If we can carry drunk people downstairs we can carry sober people upstairs!

Does Ratafia have free WiFi available for guests?

Ratafia specializes in inventive, handcrafted cocktails inspired by traditional tiki classics — think vibrant, tropical flavors with modern sophistication. Each drink also reflects a unique fusion of the founders’ backgrounds: the sun-soaked charm and artistry of the South of France, blended with the bold, cosmopolitan edge of New York City. Does Ratafia offer non-alcoholic or mocktail options?

Yes! At Ratafia, we offer a variety of delicious non-alcoholic mocktails crafted with the same care and creativity as our signature cocktails. In addition to our mocktail menu, guests can also enjoy non-alcoholic beer, as well as a wide selection of fresh juices and soft drinks — perfect for anyone looking for a refreshing, alcohol-free option.

How far in advance should I book my private event at Ratafia?

To ensure the best availability and personalized service, we recommend booking your event at Ratafia at least 4–6 weeks in advance. For larger parties or special dates, such as holidays, booking 2–3 months ahead is ideal. Early reservations help us create a seamless experience tailored to your needs. Can Ratafia accommodate large groups or corporate events?

Yes! Ratafia can host large groups and corporate events, with seating for approximately 40 guests and experience accommodating private parties of up to 150 people. Whether it’s a team outing, celebration, or special gathering, we provide a memorable and customized experience for your group.

What kind of atmosphere can I expect at Ratafia?

Ratafia offers a refined yet relaxed ambiance — think candlelight, curated playlists, and a touch of island chic. It’s where fine mixology meets the laid-back spirit of St. Maarten.

Is Ratafia more of a lively social spot or a relaxed lounge setting?

Ratafia strike’s the perfect balance — intimate enough for quiet conversation, but vibrant enough to feel alive. Early evenings and sunsets are mellow; late nights, weekends and parties bring a social buzz.

Does Ratafia have live music or DJs? If so, on which nights?

Yes. We host live music, and rotating guest DJs on select evenings. While DJs typically perform on Fridays and Saturdays, we frequently host events with artists on weekdays too. Does Ratafia have an outdoor seating area or rooftop patio?

Yes! Ratafia’s two outdoor sea-view balconies / terraces offers a breezy Caribbean setting perfect for sunset cocktails and star-lit evenings. Our terraces capture the fresh island breeze and relaxed coastal vibe of Sint Maarten.

Can you see the sunset from Ratafia?

Absolutely! Ratafia is perfectly positioned along the seaside cliffs of Cupecoy, on the western coast of Sint Maarten—one of the island’s best vantage points for breathtaking Caribbean sunsets. Thanks to our west-facing location, guests can enjoy unobstructed views as the sun dips below the horizon over the turquoise waters.

Throughout the year, sunset times in Cupecoy generally range from 5:40 PM to 6:50 PM, depending on the season. Whether you visit in winter or summer, Ratafia offers front-row seats to one of nature’s most spectacular daily shows—best enjoyed with one of our signature cocktails in hand.

Yes — Ratafia is known for its unforgettable artistic presentations, from flaming volcano bowl cocktails to sabrage (opening Champagne with a saber).

What’s the lighting like — dim and moody or bright and energetic?

Dim, warm, and sophisticated — Ratafia was designed to create a cozy, intimate setting that enhances every conversation. During DJ sets and live musical performances, we do utilize disco balls, lasers, strobe lights, black UV lights, and more.

Does Ratafia allow photography or social media content creation?

Absolutely! We love seeing your moments at Ratafia and we created the most photogenic and Instagrammable spot in St. Maarten for you and your followers to enjoy.
